Support the K of C Tootsie Roll Drive

Our Council's next activity will be our annual Tootsie Roll Drive, to be held in September and October at different locations in South Windsor.  You will recognize the Knights in their yellow and red aprons giving out Tootsie Rolls at the entrances to popular business and locations around town, like the Stop & Shop located in Town Center and D'Amato's Liquors on Sullivan Ave.  Our Brothers will also be at Masses in October at St. Margaret Mary and St. Francis of Assisi churches.

Proceeds from this drive benefit youth programs in South Windsor.  If you can make a donation to one of our Brothers at any of these locations, you will be helping our town to fund two important programs targeted for our town's youth.  We hope to see you "around town" on Tootsie Roll days!

NEWS FROM COUNCIL 5779S

Sad News:  Brother Bruce Daugherty passed away on July 7, 2016.  Services were attended by both the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree team.  Bruce became a Knight in 1967 and served as Advocate for our Council for a number of years.  Bruce was also very active with the American Legion.  Please keep his family in your prayers.

New District Deputy and Insurance Representatives:  With our new Fraternal year we received news that we will once again have a District Deputy.  His name is Dave McDermott, and he's based in Suffield.  Chancellor Bob Zagaja and I have met with Dave once already, and we look forward to working with him and introducing him to all of you at one of our future Council meetings.

Also, welcome to Jose Santana, who will be our new Insurance Field Agent.  Bob and I have also met with Jose and look forward to working with him.  Jose can be reached for any insurance matters at 860-299-3131, or at jose.santana@kofc.org.
